It makes stereotypical sense to focus on wellness for
January. I mean, isn't it 90% of society's resolution to lose weight in the new year? Yes, I am pretty
sure it is. I don't just want to lose weight, but I want to get healthy. I want
a lifestyle change. I need a lifestyle change.
(Side note: I am double dipping! These are my wellness goals
for Brustuen Biggest Loser. 2 birds. One big mother of a stone. Convenience is
awesome)
My January goals: workout at least five times a week and
take my vitamins every day. Seems easy enough, right? HA! No. Working out has
been...well, working out (Zing! pun intended...is that technically a pun?!?) However,
that is not always the case. Have you
met me? Do you know what my schedule looks like? My life is a crazy juggling
act and I don't even have kids yet!
Yikes. Buckle up baby. It is crazy ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I
love it. Every crazy minute of it. Anyhoo....working out is always the thing in
my life that gets "cut" because it takes too much time. That was old
Maja....new Maja uses working out as an outlet. An outlet to relieve stress,
regain motivation, relax, let my mind wonder, to make more lists (defeats the
relax aspect) and to just work toward a goal.
Will and I are running our first half marathon in
March. Ugh. Whose stupid idea was this again? Stupid
bucket list. Stupid idea. Some days I hate the idea. Other days, I love it.
Gives me a goal to work towards. When I have a goal, I push myself harder. I
also got sweet, blue running shoes. Love. We are also doing a Brustuen family
Biggest Loser and that has been pushing me too. Nothing like a good little
family competition and a cash prize to motivate a girl to lose some weight ;)
Vitamins! I love my vit-E-UMs! I swear by them. Will thinks I take too many,
but I don't think so. Why do we take vitamins? We don't get all the nutrients
we need from our food and beverage intake. As a woman, my calcium is going to
bite the dust eventually and if I can prolong that by taking calcium then hell
to the ya I will! Bring on the calcium! I take five vitamins a day and all are
treating my body gooooood. All are beneficial, I asked my doctor.....BOOM!
Thanks Dr. Blewett! So taking vitamins every day seems easy, unless you are me.
I get up for work an hour and a half before I start working and I am usually
running out the door so I am not late.
Yup, sometimes I grab breakfast on the go and am a mess, therefore my
precious vit-E-UMs are forgotten. Funny thing is, I notice it. I am off when I
am without them. I neeeeeed them. I am not a pill popper...
Unfortunately, I am finally feeling organized this month. I
also FINALLY got this blog started, so that's it for my first Challenge 2013: A
Metamorphosis in Baby Steps entries for January. Overall, January rocked. I
rocked it. I stuck to my goals and it feels good.
Next up: Finance Management.

You're such a good writer, sis!! Nice job :)
