Today is Veteran's Day.
There are a few people and/or groups that our country devotes a day, as a nation, to honor. We reflect on the meaning of the day, the people we thank in our hearts, the people who have made a difference.
Our veterans are those people.
It takes a very special person to join the military. It takes a special person to put their country before themselves. It takes a brave person to stand up for what they believe in, what they stand for and fight for their country. It takes a strong, selfless person to spend time away from their family so that their children can live in a better world, so that we can sleep at night, so that we can value our country and feel safe, so that you and me friend can again feel confident in our country.
These brave men and women are beyond words amazing. They have given so much and get so little in return. It's a shame. We owe them a great deal for what they do and what they have given us.
Today, veterans, I am thankful for you.
