Day 2: Skype.

My 30 Days of Thanks is not always going to be as sentimental as my first post. I have to admit, it was fun to start with Will and made sense. Some of my items I am thankful for are a little more casual, but fun and have impacted my life in a way that makes me thankful.

Here we go with day 2.

Today I had the fun opportunity to Skype with my sister, brother-in-law and adorable nieces. I absolutely love to Skype even when it can be a chaotic zoo ;) We usually start out our Skype conversations quite soft and quiet. However, it ends completely opposite and leaves Will and I with a smile from those lively characters! Today we were serenaded by Allie Pal (our 3 year old niece) with Hey Soul Sister and the  song from Oh  Brother  Where Art Thou? Talk about sweet, right? You may see her in about 14 years on The Voice....Adam Levine, you've been warned!

While Skyping, my brother-in-law, Jimbo, asked me what I was thankful for today. I replied, "Skype!" Le duh! We would have even been having that conversation "face to face" if it were not for Skype. I don't know who created Skype, but whoever did....mad kudos dude!

Skype has been an awesome tool used in the workplace as we just did interviews via Skype. So cool! I am not much of a phone person and really prefer not to talk on the phone, but it sure beats texts and emails. The phone allows us to hear one another's voice and that can be comforting in many situations. Skype trumps the phone. Skype says, "BOOM! I'm gonna take it one step further sucka!" And that it did. Skype has allowed me to watch my nieces grow and for them to get to see me and remember  who Auntie Maja and Uncle Will are,  it allows me to keep in touch with my family who lives 5 hours away and get caught up on the happenings in their lives, I have even shown my mom projects I am working on and given house tours and it has a way of relieving any feeling of homesickness that I may have. At times it is very hard being so far away from family, but  being able to see and talk to family  can make it feel like we are not really that far.

Today Skype, I am thankful for you.
